A bench outside 680 N. Lake Shore Drive

It’s another beautiful morning in Chicago! Maybe a little warm, but I won’t complain considering I found a nice bench in the shade. Today and yesterday's walks convinced me that I like walking in the morning. I would say that from now on, I’ll try to get up early and walk before work, but I won’t even lie to myself like that. I love to sleep more than I love walking in the morning.

The lake looks so still and I wonder when it will get really rough again. I think it only gets rough and wavy when it’s windy. I swear that the craziest I’ve ever seen it was on a stormy night in October of 2019. Marco and I walked out to Diversey Harbor late after work and it was really windy and maybe even raining (bless this man for putting up with me). When we arrived at the lake, we had to be careful of how close we got to the edge of the concrete landing because of how high the waves were. It seems like it’s very rare to see Lake Michigan like that. It’s usually very calm.
