Dunkin Donuts

“The English call English muffins something, but I can’t remember what it is.” I felt like the word was on the tip of my tongue.

Marco reached for his phone to look it up. The conversation started because he wondered if English people refer to what we call muffins as muffins, or if they have another word for it since they probably don’t refer to what we call English muffins as English muffins.

“They call them crumpets,” he reported.

As soon as I heard the word, I felt like I should have remembered.

“So I guess they do call muffins muffins, and they call English muffins crumpets,” I concluded. Conversations like this are some of my favorites. Regardless of how pointless they seem, they always make me feel happy.
