The Blue Door
Halfway through our walk tonight, Marco and I realized that we were running low on supplies for an adequate dinner. We were close to Jewel Osco that was open until midnight, but Aldi was just up the street and it didn’t close for another 45 minutes. We knew we only needed a few things, so we ventured to Aldi. We used to shop there a lot and stopped for some reason, but remembered what we used to buy. They have these marinated turkey tenderloins that are really good and easy to prep (because they're already prepped). We bought two of those and marinara sauce for some pasta we had already made.
The best part was that we decided to rent scooters to ride home, but we didn’t bring any shopping bags with us since we hadn't planned on shopping and Aldi didn't seem to have any. So I shoved the jar of marinara sauce into my purse and both Marco and I rode scooters home with a turkey tenderloin in our pockets. Just when you think life in the city is so glamorous, it finds a way to humble you.
