Kinzie Chophouse

While it doesn’t happen often, I do sometimes run into someone I know. Lately it’s been people that I know from living in the city, mostly old coworkers or another DePaul alum, but considering the fact that I moved here under the impression that I would no longer run into people, it happens quite a bit. I always get caught up in the statistics of it. I start considering what the chances are that we would be at the same place at the same time. Of course, I’m not great at math so I can’t actually figure it out for myself, but the concept can entertain me for hours.

It’s still funny how strange it feels to know everyone whenever I go home. It’s especially strange how friendly strangers are outside of the city, waving or saying hello as they pass. Yet again, it still shocks me how two places can be so close to each other but feel so different. I don't know if the differences prove the falsity of the city or the suburbs; or if they prove anything at all.
