Oud Coffee & Cafe

I’ve come to love running errands without a car. Yes, it does tend to mean that they take most of the day and involve walking or public transportation, but to me that is preferable to sitting in traffic and driving everywhere, at least during these warmer months. I like walking and feeling like I have more freedom as to where I can go and noticing more of my surroundings.

Walking and public transit was a huge novelty to me when I first moved to the city that I haven’t grown out of. I’m still amazed that I can live days and weeks without even getting into a car. It’s just so different from how I spent my time in high school. I hardly went 12 hours without getting in and out of my car. I do however kind of miss my old Chevy Malibu. Lovingly named Wallace, he was a hunk of junk and had many miles on him, but I loved him. He got me though a crash and all through high school and college. He was one of my first modes of independence and I’ll always be grateful for that.
