Washington Square Park

I forgot my headphones. It rarely happens, but every time it does it sucks. Ok, maybe it doesn’t suck, but it’s very noticeable.

Once I had a class in college and an assignment to go a whole day (or week?) without wearing headphones. That meant commuting on the red line with no barrier between yourself and the stark reality that is the Chicago Transit Authority. Needless to say, I lied about doing it. I get the point: Take out your headphones and notice your surroundings. Part of me feels like I do that better when I listen to music. Maybe not all music, but quite a lot.

I guess it's just nice to be able to imagine that your life has background music and sometimes, it seems to sync up pretty well.
