Washington Square Park

It seems funny how many people have dogs in the city, assuming that most people live in apartments or condos. My family never had a dog when I was growing up but it always felt like they needed a lot of space. Obviously people make it work and I’m sure one of the ways that they do is with parks like this one.

Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that your ideas or opinions about something aren’t necessarily true and in my experience, it’s one of the most difficult aspects of growing up. We make a lot of decisions based on what we think we know and there can be ego involved when we have to admit that maybe we weren’t right. For example, if you had asked me 10 years ago what age I would get engaged and married and start having kids, I would have told you 26 or 27. At about 19, I had a really hard time accepting that my previous plans weren’t necessarily right for me and I didn’t really know what I wanted. That’s the hard part, but the cool part can be realizing a whole new world of possibilities.
