Although I don’t say it often, DePaul was a great place for me and now that it’s been a few months since graduation, I’ve come to appreciate it more and more. With that said, please humor my overly dramatic and slightly emotional goodbye to the institution that has helped me shape my career and character over the course of the last four years.

My old roommate and forever friend Haley

Dear DePaul,

Even though I’m graduating in the most uncertain times, I still know a few things that are certain.

I’m certain that I’ve learned so much here in the past four years and that I have changed for the better. I’m certain that the friendships I’ve made here will last me a lifetime. I’m certain that even the days I swore that I hated school, I still appreciated the challenge and the feeling of relief when I finally overcame my struggle. I’m certain that my degree in hospitality, while it may seem impossible now, will serve me well and take me far. I’m certain that even though I chose to attend my junior year of high school, I made the right choice. I’m certain that no one can ever take my education from me and that I will always be appreciative of this place and my memories here.

Take care of yourself, take care of others, and take care DePaul.
