The Superdawg hot dog cannot be considered traditional for one reason and that is the tomatoes. A traditional Chicago hot dog has sliced, raw tomato. This hot dog has pickled tomatoes. While I do love anything pickled, Marco and I both had to take one star from Supedawg’s tradition score.
The beef hot dog itself is pretty large compared to some other hot dogs. While this is a plus in the quality category, it did make the balance of the hot dog as a whole a little uneven. The taste of the meat overpowered its toppings, leaving Marco and I to each give two stars toward the taste score.
Superdawg’s score is 2.3 stars out of 3. Overall, I would still certainly recommend Superdawg as it’s a Chicago institution for great reasons.
