Michigan Avenue

After living downtown for a few years, I’ve started to avoid walking on Michigan Avenue, especially during peak tourist times and Friday night is a great example. But tonight, Marco and I walked toward Grant Park along Michigan and in the midst of dodging tourists, I saw two separate groups taking a photo of the sunset and saying among themselves, “That’s beautiful.”

Wandering tourists can definitely become a nuisance but it’s nice to know that some might appreciate the city as much as I do and I should remind myself that I’m lucky to live somewhere worth visiting. After all, I am just an amazed tourist who found herself lucky enough to stay.
