Updated: Dec 29, 2025
The hottest and most coveted literary award right next to The Pulitzer Prize.
I learned to dedicate any spare time to reading this year. Even if I was only able to read 5 pages, I took advantage of it and in return found myself more willing to sit at home and read instead of watch TV. I appreciated some classics along with other books published within the last few years.

Stats!
Pages read: 5,385
Longest book: A House for Mr. Biswas, 564
Oldest book: Frankenstein, 1818

Most Relatable:
Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney
She’s an old woman who refuses to leave the city, despite its heightened crime, and she loves to walk and write. If this doesn’t sound like me in 50 years, I don’t know what does.
Most Haunting:
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
I set out to read this during spooky season with a little apprehension as to how creepy it would be, but was pleasantly surprised with how mellow it was. Additionally, the moral of the story will continue to haunt me.
Most Enthralling:
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This book is totally encompassing. With two main characters, you’re totally sucked into both of their stories.

Honorable Mentions:
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
The White Woman on the Green Bicycle by Monique Roffey
Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi
Thank you for following along with Redhead's Reading! Happy New Year!
